Rosemary D'Apolito, Associate Professor ~ Kent State University, 1994
Dr. D'Apolitio regularly teaches courses on minority groups, urban sociology, and visual sociology. Her research includes work in both qualitative and quantitative methods along with the use of photography as a visual presentation of the subject matter.

Beverly Gartland, Professor ~ Ohio State University, 1967
Professor Gartland teaches courses in criminology, juvenile delinquency, social deviance and gerontology. Present interests center on developing the gerontology program, handling student internships, service learning, and researching/developing drug rehabilitation programs.

Pat Gilmartin, Professor ~ Kent State University, 1983

Dr. Gilmartin teaches courses in women's studies, statistics, medical sociology and reserch methodology. Her research is in the area of women's studies, abuse/victimization of women/children, rape, gender differences, and the sociology of film.

Qi Jiang, Associate Professor ~ Univ. of Pittsburgh, 1994
Qi Jiang joined the Sociology and Anthropology Department at YSU in 1994. In the past few years, she collaborated with her colleagues and engaged her students in developing and completing the following research projects: An Evaluation Research of the Youngstown Head Start; An Investigation of Juvenile Crime and Delinquency; YSU Enrollment and Retention Survey; and Teaching and Learning Student Survey and Faculty Survey.

 Robert Weaver, Professor ~ University of Connecticut
Dr. Weaver teaches a variety of courses - e.g. medical sociology, social stratification, social theory, social research. His current research focuses on health-related issues, with particular emphasis on the role for computers in the delivery of medical care.

John White, Professor/Chair ~ University of Oregon, 1974
Professor White has been teaching at Youngstown State University for 34 years. He teaches courses in general anthropology, archaeology, Native North and South American Indians and law. His current research interests are divided between historical archaeology, historical metallurgy, archaeology as an educational tool, and Native American civil rights.
