John White, Professor/Chair ~ University of Oregon, 1974 Professor White has been teaching at Youngstown State University for 30 years. He teaches courses in general anthropology, archaeology, Native North and South American Indians and law. His current research interests are divided between historical archaeology, historical metallurgy, archaeology as an educational tool, and Native American civil rights. He has taught at both large research universities and small colleges in western Pennsylvania. To these experiences, Dr. Gordiejew can add the recent experience of teaching in an international program, which included students and faculty from the United States and other countries. In Dr. Gordiejew's classes he has encountered and enjoyed the diversity of gender, ethnicity and age. He has taught students in large classes and small seminars.
