Alpha Alpha Rho is YSU's local chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society. Pi Sigma Alpha, founded in 1920, boasts of nearly 700 chapters nationwide and is one of the largest members of the Association of College Honor Societies. The mission of Pi Sigma Alpha and its local chapters is to "stimulate scholarship and intelligent interest in political science" (PSA's Articles of Incorporation).

Alpha Alpha Rho was chartered in January 2003 by students who desired to form an honor society based on academic achievement. To be recognized nationally by Pi Sigma Alpha, a student who pursues membership in Alpha Alpha Rho will pursue scholastics and academics vigorously. There are two levels of student membership in Alpha Alpha Rho: national standing and affiliate. To inquire about the standards for admission, please email Alpha Alpha Rho at alphaalpharho_1@hotmail.com.
All students may not be eligible for membership, but Alpha Alpha Rho strives to represent all political science majors and minors. Alpha Alpha Rho is a new, but vibrant student organization of the Political Science Department. We are committed to promoting and recognizing academic achievement; establishing forums, conferences, seminars, discussion groups, and lectures; providing leadership and administrative experiences for students; and participating in community activities and University projects.

For more information, email the society at alphaalpharho_1@hotmail.com, or faculty advisor Dr. Sunil Ahuja at sahuja@ysu.edu, or call the Political Science department at 330-941-3436.
