International Student Admission

Overview
International applicants must provide all materials required three months before the quarter they wish to enter. In addition to the regular admission requirements, the following must also be submitted:

A true or certified copy of degree earned and all course and examination records, including grades received, beyond the secondary-school level.

A minimum score of 550 on the "Test of English as a Foreign Language" (TOEFL) administered by the Educational Testing Service, Princeton, New Jersey, by graduates of foreign universities who are non-native English speakers; or, a minimum score of 84 on the Michigan English Language Battery (MELAB) administered by the English Language Institute, Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Before full admission to academic study, students are tested and placed in special English classes, if necessary, to ensure an adequate level of English proficiency.

For F- I or J- I Visa Certification

Certification of good health, including medical history and physician's examination.

Evidence of financial support and sponsorship during the period of study at YSU, including documents of verification.

A Visa Clearance form from the last school attended for international applicants who have attended another U.S. academic or language school.
