Advisory Committee on Islamic Studies
In accordance with the agreement between Youngstown State University and the Youngstown Muslim community, an advisory committee has been set up to assist the university professor of Islamic studies in carrying out his work. The committee meets a few times during an academic year.

The committee consists of six members, three of them representing Youngstown State University and three representing the Youngstown Muslim community. The members of the committee serve two-year terms that are staggered so that three members are replaced every year.

The current members of the advisory committee are Dr. Nafees Ahmed, Dr. Shakir Husain, Dr. Riffat Iqbal, Dr. Steven Schildcrout, Dr. David Stephens, and Mrs. Randa Shabayek El-Azeem.
