The Center for Historic Preservation--Mission Statement

Our community-oriented approach to research, teaching, and service is designed to:

• Promote community and neighborhood revitalization through historic preservation, planning and education, and adaptive re-use of the built environment

• Preserve our nation's historic architecture and engineering and industrial past through adaptive re-use, documentation, historic preservation, and planning and education

• Offer students intensive, practical, and professional opportunities to take what they learn in the classroom and apply it in community and regionally based preservation projects.

• Provide high-level professional consulting services for local, state, and federal projects
