Undergraduate
Certificate in Historic Preservation

Department of History, Youngstown State University
Youngstown, Ohio 44555 (330) 742 - 3452

In the field of Historic Preservation, professionals work to encourage the renovation and re-use of historic sites, structures and neighborhoods. Since 1993, the YSU History Department has developed courses for undergraduates in this fast-growing specialty.

The Department now announces a "Certificate in Historic Preservation" available to students who complete the full course sequence. Students earning the Certificate may find work with consulting firms, local, state or national preservation groups, museums or government agencies.

The "Certificate" is available to history majors, and also to students in other disciplines. Non-history majors who earn the "Certificate" automatically fulfill requirements for a history minor.
