This LShort-Beamer Guide is based on the LShort Guide by Tobias Oetiker and the Beamer Users Guide by Till Tantau. It is presented here in PDF format and is meant to be screen read, not printed, since there are numerous hyperlinks to material, most of which refer to files on this site. These links are generally PDF files that illustrate frames that are produced using Beamer, and the source code that generated each of the files is also located on this site. To obtain one of the source files, simply replace the pdf extension of hte file name with the extension tex. For example, it you would like to see how the see how the Beamer file 15-11.pdf was generated, simply look at the file named 15-11.tex . Tex files can be read and edited with any standard text editor.
This Guide that was constructed for use in my Calculus Lab course during the academic year 2008-2009.I expect to be modifying the Guide on a regular basis and will change the name of the file to reflect the date it was created. The items that I intend to change next involve adding sound and film clips as well as animation to Beamer presentations.
If you find errors in the Guide I would appreciate knowing about them. This is a work in progress and not intended for general publication, but my students have been able to verify that the material in the first 7 Chapters generally work as described. They haven't gotten to Chapter 8 yet, so they haven't verified this material, but I have. More detail about the Guide can be found in the ReadMe file.
