Trumbull Arboretum The Trumbull Arboretum of Youngstown State University is a 118-acre facility located on Warner Road in Trumbull County. Donated to Youngstown State University by the Trumbull Arboretum and Conservation Association in 1966, it was established in the late 1930's and incorporated in 1940. The property consists of a natural beech-maple forest, open field succession with extensive rock outcropping. More that 100 species of trees have been planted in a grid pattern over the years in the open field. Natural succession has taken place and today the various states of maturity are evident. Exotic species can be found here. The Trumbull Arboretum is used by various classes including Field Botany, Ecology, Dendrology, Entomology, and Ornithology.
