Undergraduate Research Opportunities in Proteomics at YSU

During the Regular Academic Year. The Proteomics Research Group (PRG) recruits candidates for participation in its Undergraduate Research Program for the regular school year. Review article (PDF).  This program, for the regular school year, is geared for YSU students.  The PRG is an interdisciplinary partnership comprised of research laboratories from the Department of Biological Sciences (Drs.  Chester Cooper, Gary Walker, Jon Caguiat, David Asch and Xiangjian Min ) and the Department of Chemistry (Dr. Nina Stoureman.  The research focus of the PRG is the identification and characterization of proteins having roles in human disease. The selection of students for participation in the URP of the PRG will be highly competitive.  It will consist of a rigorous two-part process.  Therefore, only students serious about pursuing a career with a scientific research component are encouraged to apply. Minimum qualifications for student applicants include the following:
!!!!!Must have successfully completed by the Spring 2004 semester the following courses (and the accompanying laboratory components) with a grade of “B” or better:
BIOL 2601 (General Biology: Molecules and Cells)
BIOL 2602 (General Biology: Organisms and Ecology)
CHEM 1515 (General Chemistry 1)
