| Department Mission Statement: The Department's primary missions are to prepare undergraduate students for productive professional careers in geology, earth science, and environmental science, and to prepare graduate students for leadership roles in environmental research and management. We also provide general education courses that help the public make intelligent policy decisions on energy, natural resources, waste mangement, geologic hazards, climate change, and other related issues that affect society. Finally we support undergraduate, graduate, and faculty research, which advances knowledge in our disciplines. | |
